Usage

• Launch HFW_MM.exe

• Some users have reported that running it as admin helps.

• Provide your game directory in the startup menu if it isn’t auto‑detected.

• Click Browse, choose the root of your HFW / HZDR installation (the folder containing HorizonForbiddenWest.exe or HorizonZeroDawnRemastered.exe). For example "E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition" * This is only required at first launch per game.

1. Drag & Drop: Drag mod folders or ZIPs into the drag 'n' drop area.

2. Choose Variations: If prompted, select the variation you want to install or simply Import All.

3. Inspect: Click the dropdown arrow to expand each mod and view its variation entries. The Preview Panel on the right displays a visual preview along with metadata details.

4. Select the checkbox next to the variation you want to install. Only one variation can be enabled per mod at a time.

5. Click Pack Mods to package your mods. The actual package and folder path may vary based on your Settings configuration. By default, it uses package/ar.

Best Practices

• Run the Manager from its own directory rather than inside the game folder.

• Back up your game’s saves folder externally before major changes.

• Use Un-Check All before selecting specific mods to avoid mistakes or create presets for future builds.

• Using the Preset (mod loadout) workflow is recommended for consistent, conflict‑free mod management.

• Close the game to avoid file-lock issues during Restoring or Packing. However, if you experience crashes, instability, or unusual behavior, it’s strongly recommended that you contact the mod author to confirm whether the issue is caused by the Manager and not by the mod itself.
